Reviews for Sunny Haven
Review highlights
Based on 159 reviewsSunny Haven in Nassau consistently receives praise for its authentic Bahamian cuisine, with particular commendation for traditional dishes such as stewed oxtail, minced lobster, and guava duff. Customers frequently highlight the restaurant’s inviting ambiance and efficient, friendly staff, contributing to a pleasant dining experience. While takeaway orders are recommended to avoid long wait times, many appreciate the value offered. Some feedback suggests minor improvements, including extending weekend opening hours and moderating the use of strongly scented candles, ensuring the focus remains on the fresh, flavorful food and overall atmosphere.
The best authentic Bahamian cuisine in the area. Their minced lobster, stewed oxtail and guava duff are simply irresistible.
If you are headed into the Palmdale area call sunny heaven to make an order between 12:30pm -3pm is the best times. There is a significant wait if you drop in to place your order versus phone calling your order in. You get value for your money.
Staff are always very efficient and ambiance is great.Food taste is consistently good.
Loved the decor, stewed and boiled grouper were delicious. Johnny cake fresh and ambiance was perfect! Very lovely place. The scented candles were a bit too strong and unnecessary as your place is clean and fresh- let the smells of your food highlight the room!
Doesn't disappoint. The opening hours on Saturday could be longer though
My husband and I were actually coming to this restaurant for breakfast and learned that they only do breakfast on Saturdays. But the bar tender, I believe her name was Steph, was so sweet and accommodating. She let us in before they opened and we were able to hangout and drink a beer while we waited for them to open. She recommended some really great food options, and it has honestly been some of the BEST food we have gotten since we’ve been here. We plan to get up Saturday morning and have breakfast there because they were so great and the food was so good.
I hope your server is Shane when you visit. The stew fish was spot on, the Johnny cake was slap yo mama kinda good!! And his recommendation for the passion fruit lemonade washed it all down. Take cash to make the process faster. 10/10 I highly recommend
Great food. Great service.
